Our way of doing business:

We have been supporting people and organisations who want to improve performance through the application of TOC since 1985. Since 1990 we have been treating our knowledge as a valuable product not a service. We do not sell time.

Our philosophy is that our knowledge should bring significant benefits to our customers and they should only pay for the value delivered.

Normally the practice is to agree with a customers a value for what we deliver before work begins. They then pay the agreed value when each of the milestones are reached. A significant proportion of any agreed fee is not paid until the results have been realised at the end of the agreed joint activities.

In larger projects there may be an element of the fee retained and this will only be paid when the results and process have proven to be sustainable.

Getting Started:

Most customer relationships begin with a brief review of the current situation. This will probably take between 2 and 4 hours and may involve a tour of any facilities if this is relevant. The review will involve:

  1. The customer giving us a brief introduction to the business and its current situation. We are very interested at this stage in the problems faced, the potential for increasing sales and the obstacles to getting more sales and any actions that are currently in progress or about to be taken.
  2. We will then use appropriate TOC processes to check what we understand, to clarify what the problem is and to start to develop a direction that we should go in. We will do this on a flip chart or a white board because we want the customer to challenge what is being developed as necessary.
  3. From time to time through the discussion we will introduce and clarify any TOC concepts that we need to use to analyse the situation - we will not do any presentations or give any sales pitches during these initial reviews.
  4. Once we have agreed the problem and the direction of a solution we will discuss and agree what should be the next steps. Usually the next step that makes most sense is to return and check the analysis and direction with other members of the management team.
  5. We undertake a review with other members of the management team (2 or 3 individuals) and check the understanding of the problem and the direction of the solution. This session would end with confirmation of the outcome of step 4 or a clarification of the outcome of step 4
  6. Once the problem and direction of the solution has been confirmed we will finalise the agreed way forward and present a formal recommendation proposal. The outline of this recommendation is usually given to the customer contact that requested us to undertake a review after step 4
If you would like to explore what you can achieve with TOC please call us on +44(0)1764679756, we look forward to talking with you.
